House OKs measure to bar aid for Saudi's Yemen campaign
WASHINGTON, 14 July 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: The House of Representatives approved an amendment to the annual defense spending bill Thursday to halt U.S. support for Saudi Arabia-led military operations in Yemen. Momentum has been growing on Capitol Hill to end support for the military campaign, which has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties and exacerbated a humanitarian crisis in what was the Arab world's poorest nation even prior to the offensive. Lebanon gathers to protest no-confidence vote
BEIRUT, 09 Feb 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Hundreds of demonstrators protested Saturday in front of the Parliament building here against the Hassan Diab government and a vote of confidence to prevent a new government. The vote is expected Tuesday. Another group gathered in front of the Association of Banks in Lebanon and protested its policy limiting foreign money transfer and withdrawing foreign currency. Rockets hit Iraqi military base housing US forces
ISTANBUL, 15 March 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: An Iraqi military base, which houses U.S. forces, was targeted by rockets on Saturday for the second time this week. Al-Taji military airbase, located 85 kilometers (some 53 miles) north of capital Baghdad, was targeted by Katyusha rockets, said Iraqi security officials who talked to local media. The airbase houses joint forces including Iraqi and American soldiers as well as other foreign forces from the U.S.-led international coalition. No casualties or damages have been reported yet.
