38-year-old woman gives birth to 17th child in 20th pregnancy, infant dies
Belagavi, 18 Dec 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: A migrant labourer woman from Maharashtra recently gave birth to her 17th baby in a sugarcane field in Belagavi, however, the infant did not survive. Lankabai (full name not disclosed), a resident of Majalgaon tehsil of Maharashtra’s Beed district, gave birth to a baby girl in a sugarcane field in Belagavi district, he said. It is gathered that Lankabai gave birth to her 17th child, a girl, who died soon afterwards. The woman, who belongs to the nomadic Gopal community, first drew the attention of health officials in September when they found that she was pregnant for the 20th time. He has stuck a flex banner on a tree in the village announcing the decision “A few days ago, three cows from my house have gone missing. As the nuisance of cattle thieves has increased in and around the villages here, we have prayed to the deities at Dharmasthala, Marnakatta, Panolibail, Koragajja and Oora Kukkintaya Kodamanithaya to punish the cattle thieves. Siddaramaiah seeks Guv’s intervention to discuss Yatnal’s comments against Doreswamy in Assembly
Bengaluru, 04 March 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka assembly Siddaramaiah on Tuesday sought Governor Vajubhai Vala’s intervention to allow them to discuss in the House BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal’s alleged derogatory comments against centenarian freedom fighter H S Doreswamy. The former Chief Minister also said he will be meeting the Governor along with party leaders on Wednesday morning on the matter.
