Govt rules out granting dual citizenship

New Delhi, 10 Feb 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The government on Tuesday said it is not considering any proposal to grant dual citizenship. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai also said in Lok Sabha that over 6.76 lakh Indians gave up Indian nationality between 2015 and 2019 and took up citizenship of other countries. “No sir,” Rai said replying to a written question of Congress member Karti Chidambaram, who asked whether the government is considering any proposal for dual citizenship. The minister said as per information available with the Ministry of External Affairs, a total number of 1,24,99,395 Indian nationals are living in foreign countries. COVID-19: Rajasthan announces 15-day lockdown with exemptions

New Delhi, 19 Apr 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: In view of the growing coronavirus cases, a lockdown has been imposed in Rajasthan from April 19 to May 3rd with some exemptions. However, the Ashok Gehlot government has named it 'jan anushasan  pakhwada' (Public Discipline Fortnight). During this time, all government offices except the essential services will be closed. Three militants killed in encounter with security forces in Jammu & Kashmir's Shopian

New Delhi, 06 May 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Three recently recruited militants of Albadar militant outfit were killed and another surrendered before troops during the early morning gunfight in Shopian in south Kashmir on Thursday, police said. A police spokesman said four newly recruited militants of Abadar were trapped in a cordon laid by joint party of police, CRPF and army at Kanigam area of Shopian district in the early hours today. He said police and security forces observed maximum restraint and tried their best to persuade the holed up militants to surrender.
