African billionaire Mohammed Dewji returns home

NAIROBI, 21 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Africa’s youngest billionaire Mohammed Dewji who was kidnapped last week by unknown gunmen in the Tanzanian city of Dar es Salaam has returned home, his family confirmed to local media on Saturday.  In a tweet, Dewji, 43, also confirmed his safe return saying: “I thank Allah that I have returned home safely. I thank all my fellow Tanzanians and everyone around the world for their prayers. I thank the authorities of Tanzania, including the Police Force for working for my safe return.” His father Gullam Dewji also confirmed his son's release without saying if the family had paid any ransom, daily Mwananchi reported. CAR rebel groups sign peace deal in Khartoum

KHARTOUM, 05 Feb 2019 [Fik/News Sources]:  Warring rivals in the Central African Republic (CAR) signed a peace agreement in Sudanese capital Khartoum on Tuesday to end the conflict in their war-torn country.   Addressing the signing ceremony, CAR President Faustin-Archange Touadera reiterated commitment of the country's rebel groups to the deal.   "We are insisting on passing the sectarian conflict and hate, so we commit ourselves to peace and implementation of this agreement," he said.   The initial agreement was signed by 14 armed groups, including Christian anti-Balaka and Muslim Seleka militias.   The final deal will be signed in CAR capital Bangui next week.   Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, for his part, said Khartoum will remain an honest

New York police investigating assault on Muslim woman

WASHINGTON, 20 Mar 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Police in New York City are investigating a possible hate crime after a Muslim woman was physically assaulted in what the city’s mayor deemed a "disgusting act of hate".
