58 die in fresh clashes between Taliban, Afghan forces

KABUL, 05 Feb 2019 [Fik/News Sources]:  At least 36 members of the Afghan security forces and 22 Taliban rebels have been killed in fresh clashes in the country’s north, officials and local media confirmed Tuesday. The renewed fighting coincides with a two-day round of peace talks now underway in Moscow between Taliban representatives and several Afghan officials (not affiliated with the Kabul government). Safiullah Amiri, deputy chairman of the provincial assembly of Kunduz province on the border with Tajikistan, told Anadolu Agency that the rebels had overrun a number of checkpoints manned by army, police and pro-government militiamen late Monday. Civilians killed in US airstrikes targeting al-Shabaab

NAIROBI, 20 Mar 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: The U.S. is killing Somali civilians in airstrikes targeting al-Shabaab militants, Amnesty International said in a report on Wednesday noting it has evidence to prove it. The regional Amnesty International office in Nairobi, Kenya called the civilian deaths war crimes, adding that forensic investigation has yielded credible evidence that 14 civilians were killed in just five out of the more than 100 airstrikes that the U.S. has carried out in Somalia. Pakistan bans several charity organizations

ISLAMABAD, 12 May 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Pakistan on Saturday banned several charity organizations for their links with banned outfits in the country, an official statement said.  “The Ministry of Interior has proscribed 10 entities for being affiliated with Jamat-ud-Dawah, Falah-e-Insaniyat and Jaish-e-Muhammad groups,” the ministry said in a statement. According to the statement, the organizations which have been banned by the government are, Al-Anfal Trust, Idara-e-Khidmat Khalaq, Al-Dawat-ul-Irshad, Al-Hamd Trust, Mosque and Welfare Trust, Al-Madinah Foundation, Muaz-bin-Jabal Education Trust, Al-Eesar Foundation, Al-Rehmat Trust Organization and Al-Furqan Trust.
