Indian abducted in Afghanistan safely returns home
CHANDIGARH, 19 Mar 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: One of seven Indian nationals kidnapped in northeastern Afghanistan last year has safely returned to India, New Delhi announced on Monday. India's Ministry of External Affairs expressed gratitude to Afghanistan for its support in securing the man's release and repatriation from the province of Baghlan. "We continue to work closely with the Government of Afghanistan for the safe and early return of the remaining six Indian nationals," it said in a statement. Chinese vice president in Pakistan for 3-day visit
ISLAMABAD, 27 May 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: With a backdrop of a mega project to boost economic ties, China’s vice president arrived in Pakistan on Sunday for an official three-day visit. Wang Qishan was received at Noor Khan Airbase in the capital Islamabad by Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Planning Minister Khusro Bakhtiar. According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, during his stay in Islamabad Wang will call on President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan. Trump approved strikes on Iran but pulled back: report
WASHINGTON, 22 June 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: U.S. President Donald Trump approved airstrikes Thursday evening against Tehran in retaliation for the downing of an American surveillance drone but pulled back, The New York Times reported. Citing multiple officials from the Trump administration, the Times said the White House hosted intense debates and discussions among Trump's senior national security officials and congressional leaders over a response against Tehran.
