China says no new cases confirmed locally

ANKARA, 26 Mar 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: China said Thursday no new local cases of coronavirus were reported in the country. In its daily briefing, China’s National Health Commission (NHC) said six more people died of the virus and 67 new cases were confirmed, but all of them were imported. “Hubei reported no new cases of confirmed infection, no new cases of suspected infections, and 6 deaths, 5 in Wuhan,” the NHC said.  Since the start of the outbreak last December in China, the country has reported more than 3,200 fatalities and confirmed over 81,000 cases of the virus, officially known as COVID-19. Spain records 809 more deaths, lowest figure this week

OVIEDO, 04 Apr 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Spain recorded the lowest daily deaths of this week on Saturday, the country's Health Ministry said. With 809 more fatalities in the last 24 hours, the death toll in the country stands at 11,744. Additionally, 7,026 new cases were confirmed, bringing the tally to 124,000. Only Italy has a death toll higher than Spain with over 14,600 reported fatalities. Yet with Italy’s population of 60 million and Spain’s population of 46 million, Spain has almost reached the same proportional mortality as its Mediterranean neighbor. Gov't, private sector cohesion needed for vaccine: WHO

GENEVA, 17 May 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said scientists are working at "breakneck speed" to develop vaccines and medicine to fight COVID-19, but the world must ensure government-private sector cohesion.
