Afghan forces kill 27 Taliban insurgents
KABUL, 11 April 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Afghan security forces said Saturday at least 27 Taliban insurgents were killed in the northern Badakhshan province bordering Tajikistan. The Defense Ministry said in a statement that the insurgents were killed in air and ground offensives in Warduj and Nusay districts last evening. It said nine insurgents also got injured in operations aimed at thwarting the Taliban's plans to storm these two districts. "No civilians have been harmed in these operations," Rouhullah Ahmadzai, a Defense Ministry spokesman, said. Meanwhile, the Taliban have condemned these operations as "war crimes". "Dozens of civilian homes have been demolished, many gardens and farms have been destroyed and heavy corporeal and financial losses inflicted on innocent villagers,"

Canadian doctor serious concerns for Rohingya refugees
TRENTON, 20 May 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The outbreak of COVID-19 in the world’s largest refugee camp in Bangladesh will prove to be a cataclysmic disaster, according to a Canadian doctor and Nobel Peace Prize nominee. China in 'close' contact with India on resolving border issues
ANKARA, 17 June 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: China on Wednesday reiterated its claim that a recent military clash with India had occurred on Beijing's side of the de facto border in the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a news conference in Beijing, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said that the "incident was very clear, as it happened on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control [LAC] and the responsibility did not rest with China," the daily Global Times reported.
