Bangladesh: Nearly 23,000 people infected by dengue

DHAKA, 04 August 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Bangladesh’s worst-ever viral fever dengue infection outbreak is still rising, with 1,649 new infections hospitalized over the last 24 hours, the government said Saturday. To date a total of 22,919 people have been recorded as dengue infected, with 18 deaths, said the government's Health Services Directorate. But unofficial data claim much higher infection rates and death tolls from the mosquito-borne virus. According to local media reports based on hospital sources, at least 50 people have so far died of dengue. This July also marked the highest dengue infection period in the history of Bangladesh, with at least 13,182 people infected, according to government data. Tanzania begins repatriating Burundian refugees

KIGALI, 05 Oct 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Tanzania on Thursday began repatriating 1000 Burundians, who had taken refuge in 2015, following political violence and instability in their country.  “Today [Thursday] we are repatriating 1000 refugees with all their belongings. All international organizations are aware of this operation,” Director of Information Services and Government Spokesperson, Hassan Abbasi told reporters. In April 2015 protests broke out in the landlocked East African country Burundi, when President Pierre Nkurunziza decided to seek a third term in office. US to waive sanctions on military sales to Turkey
