GCC chiefs-of-staff meet in Kuwait City

RIYADH, 11 Sep 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The 15th meeting of the Supreme Committee of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Chiefs-of-Staff kicked off Monday in Kuwait City. Notably, Qatari Chief-of-Staff Ghanim bin Shaheen al-Ghanim attended the event for the first time since mid-2017, which saw a major crisis in inter-Arab relations pitting Qatar against a four-nation bloc led by Saudi Arabia.  According to Kuwait’s official KUNA news agency, Monday’s get-together follows a series of earlier meetings attended by GCC chiefs-of-staff aimed at enhancing coordination between GCC militaries. 13 Houthi rebels killed in northwestern Yemen

ADEN, 29 Sep 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Thirteen Houthi rebels, including two high-level members of the group, have been killed in northwestern Yemen, the Yemeni army announced Friday on its website. Colonel Kanan al-Ahsab, commander of the 102 Brigade, said a raid was conducted in Baqem directorate of Saada province -- a traditional Houthi stronghold, according to 26sepnews.net. Ahsab said 12 Houthis were killed in the operation, including Abdullatif al-Ashul, the commander of the group. Another militia member who was in charge of supply and support was also killed during a clash, the website said. Israel arrests 21 Palestinians in West Bank raids

JERUSALEM, 02 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Israeli forces rounded up 21 Palestinians in overnight raids across the occupied West Bank, according to the Israeli military.  The individuals were arrested for “suspected involvement in popular terrorist activities,” the army claimed in a Tuesday statement.  The statement, however, did not elaborate as to the meaning of “popular terrorist activities”.  According to the statement, the detained individuals have since been remanded into custody for further investigation.  Israel frequently conducts sweeping arrest campaigns across the occupied territories on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians.  According to Palestinian figures, some 6,500 Palestinians are currently languishing in Israeli prisons, including scores of
