Turkey and Qatar prove to be true friends, says Erdogan

ISTANBUL, 27 Nov 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Monday that his country and Qatar have supported one another in hard times, and proved to be a true friend many times. “Turkish nation showed intense efforts to break the blockade and sanctions targeting its Qatari brothers,” Erdogan said during the 4th meeting of Turkey-Qatar High Strategic Committee in Istanbul. In June of last year, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain collectively severed ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorist groups. The Saudi-led axis also imposed a land, sea and air blockade on Qatar, with Riyadh sealing the Abu Samra border crossing linking the two Gulf states. Tunis ‘working hard’ to solve Algeria-Morocco disputes

TUNIS, 01 Dec 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Tunisia is “working hard” to resolve outstanding differences between Algeria and Morocco amid efforts to “reactivate” the five-nation Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), according to remarks by Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis al-Jahnawi. The AMU, which includes Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia and Mauritania, was established in 1989 with the aim of promoting the economic -- and eventually political -- union of its five member states. Israel halts recognition of Al-Quds university degrees

JERUSALEM, 04 Dec 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Israeli Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Haim Katz has withdrawn recognition of degrees of Al-Quds University, south of east Jerusalem.  Katz argued that the move was taken due to the university’s anti-Israel incitement, according to Israel Hayom newspaper on Tuesday.  “We will deal with the lack of social workers without going to institutions that undermine the legitimacy of Israel,” he said.  Israel used to recognize social work degrees given by the university due to lack of enough social workers.  Israel has refused to recognize the university as a foreign university because of its branches in Jerusalem.  Founded in 1984, the main campus of Al-Quds University is located of Abu Dis town in southern Jerusalem.  The university
