Oman marks its 48th National Day

JEDDAH, 19 Nov 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The Sultanate of Oman has celebrated its 48th National Day, marking a period of peace and development under the leadership of Sultan Qaboos. In celebration, Sultan Qaboos will preside over the “Glorious National Day” military parade on Sunday, which will be staged at the parade ground of the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) Command. On the occasion, Oman’s neighbors, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, have congratulated the country’s leadership and its people on the event of their national day. Palestinians imprisoned by Israel declare hunger strike

JERUSALEM, 09 Apr 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Scores of Palestinians inmates in Israeli prisons declared an open-ended hunger strike on Monday to protest their conditions, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Association, an NGO. In a statement, the association said that 120 detainees were currently taking part in the hunger-strike. “And hundreds more are expected to join in days ahead,” it said. Palestinian PM says ready for reconciliation with Hamas

RAMALLAH, 15 May 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said Tuesday that his government is ready for reconciliation with Hamas. “The Palestinian government and Palestinian movement Fatah are ready for reconciliation with [the Islamic resistance movement] Hamas,” Shtayyeh said during a meeting with Hanna Nasser, the head of the Palestinian Elections Commission. “The division is a black chapter in our Palestinian history, and if our perspectives of reconciliation with Hamas are different, let the people decide through elections," he said.
