New Delhi, 08 May 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Slamming the Centre over its handling of the second wave of COVID-19 infections, senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily on Saturday alleged there is a "total collapse of governance" and an "absence of a national strategy" for providing medical essentials such as hospital beds, oxygen and ventilators to combat the pandemic. Asserting that there is a need to treat the current scenario as a war-like situation, Moily alleged there is no proper policy on oxygen allocation to states for combating the emerging situation. Read More...New Delhi, 04 July 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: India saw a single-day rise of 43,071 COVID-19 infections, which took the tally of cases to 3,05,45,433, while active cases have declined to 4,85,350, according to Union health ministry data updated on Sunday. The death toll has climbed to 4,02,005 with 955 more fatalities, while the case fatality rate has risen to 1.32 per cent from 1.31 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed. The active cases have further declined to 4,85,350 and comprise 1.59 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 97.09 per cent, the ministry said. It said active cases have declined by 10,183 in a span of 24 hours. He is a heart patient and his family members are concerned about his well-being. They say he is not getting proper treatment in jail hospital. “Despite being hospitalized for five days there is no improvement in his health. He suffers from heart disease and needs urgent surgery.
