Owaisi blames Modi govt. for hate speeches, Delhi ‘pogrom’

New Delhi, 03 March 2020 [Fik/News Sources]:  Following the adjournment of Lok Sabha, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said that provocative speeches by BJP leaders were made at the behest of the party leadership. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not give any statement on the deaths of innocent lives in the Delhi violence. His party’s leaders, including union minister Anurag Thakur and an ex-MLA, provoked people to kill. Did they make these statements on their own? With 20 days left for NPR to begin, public is becoming jittery

New Delhi, 11 March 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: With barely 20 days to go before the country-wide National Population Register (NPR) exercise begins along with Census 2021 house listing phase, there are several questions which remain unanswered about its modalities. For instance, there is little clarity on the agency or company which has been given the mandate to develop software of the app which will be used to carryout NPR work. More importantly and alarmingly, there is no information about how a respondent can know whether the enumerator has entered his details correctly into the app. In other words, whether the equivalent of an ‘acknowledgment’ slip will be given to the respondent is still unclear. COVID-19 patient passes away in Mumbai; death toll rises to 9

New Delhi, 24 Mar 2020 [Fik/News Sources]:  A 65-year-old coronavirus patient passed away at Mumbai’s Kasturba Hospital on Monday. The patient recently returned from the United Arab Emirates. According to the data compiled by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of infection-related death toll in the country rose to nine on Tuesday, while the total number of active cases reached 482. The tally of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra reached 101 on Tuesday with three new cases in Pune and one in Satara, the state’s health department said.
