Karnataka reserves beds, ventilators for COVID-19 patients as cases cross 11K mark

Bengaluru, 27 June 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: With the graph of coronavirus going up in the city, the government has reserved 2,200 beds for COVID cases out of the 10,689 beds available at 11 private medical colleges in the city. At least 281 ICU COVID beds out of the 561 and 120 ventilators of the total 239 at these private colleges have also been reserved. The medical colleges have been ordered to run a minimum of two fever clinics and ensure that Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) approved COVID-19 testing laboratories are established. On Friday, the state health department noted 445 cases, including 65 cases linked to interstate passengers, taking the tally to 11,005. Ten people died of the virus on Friday. Karnataka will hold KCET 2020 for II PUC students on July 30-31

Bengaluru, 15 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Despite objection by a large mass and opposition to the conduct of the KCET 2020 exam the government has decided to go ahead with the examination on July 30 and July 31. "The K-CET 2020 examination will be held on the decided dates of July 30 & 31," the minister for higher education, Dr. Ashwathnarayan announced on Twitter. "This is an exam where nearly 2 lakh children will write. Aren't you worried about their safety. We know what kind of social distancing we followed during English exam. Arabian Sea coast sees bioluminescence wonder on Nov 23

Ullal, 24 Nov 2020 [Fik/News Sources]:  On the night of Monday, November 23, beaches along the coast of Karnataka from Malpe to Karwar experienced huge crowds as the seawater turned blue due to unique bioluminescence phenomenon. Someshwara beach here too saw a large number of people gathering to see the ‘blue waves.’ Most of them stayed till late in the night. Photos of this natural wonder immediately went viral on social media. This strange biological phenomenon has been taking place in the Arabian Sea for the past two, three days.
