Bengaluru, 11 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Reeling under huge financial loses even before the economic crisis induced by the COVID-19 pandemic the State’s three road transport corporations are mulling to send their staff on a one-year unpaid leave. Shivayogi Kalasad, the Managing Director of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, has written to the chiefs of Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) and North East Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC) regarding this proposal. Institutional and home quarantine must for international passengers: DHO clarifies
Mangaluru, 27 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The District Health Office has put to rest all confusion over quarantine rules for international passengers, in the wake of unsubstantiated messages on social media. The health officer has said that seven days of institutional quarantine in a hotel/lodge and another seven days of home quarantine is compulsory for international passengers. He said the throat swab samples of those in institutional quarantine will be collected and if the report is negative they will be sent for home quarantine for another seven days.
