14-day quarantine must on arrival for those coming back to Karnataka: CM Yediyurappa

Bengaluru, 11 May 2020 [Fik/News Sources]:  Alarmed over a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases after people stranded in other states began entering Karnataka, the state government has decided to permit only Karnataka residents stranded in other states or foreign countries and free from the virus to return, an official said on Sunday. "Only Karnataka residents, stranded in other states or foreign countries due to the extended lockdown will be allowed to return to their home state through the inter-state borders and airports in Bengaluru and Mangaluru from Monday," an official from the State Disaster Management Authority said. Karnataka govt seeks report from DGP over UN report on IS presence in state

Bengaluru, 27 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The Karnataka government on Sunday directed state Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG and IGP) Praveen Sood to submit a detailed report on the internal security following the observation by the United Nations that international terrorist outfit Islamic State (IS) was active in the state. The UN report stated that Al-Qaeda in the Indian subcontinent, which reportedly has between 150 and 200 members from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar, was reportedly planning attacks in the region.
