Moral policing at jewellery shop: 4 arrested

Mangaluru, 12 Dec 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: Police have arrested four men in connection with the recent incident of moral policing at a jewellery shop at Kankanady in Mangaluru.

Those arrested are Prakash (34), Chethan Kumar (39) from Kankanady, Shibin Padikal (36) from Jeppinamogaru and Ganesh(35) from Attavar.

The accused  had barged into the jewellery shop on December 9 and had assaulted a young man working there for  being close  to a colleague belonging to another community.

The police had filed three cases in connection with the incident. If one case was registered by the assaulted youth another was filed by the mother of the young woman accusing the youth of threatening her daughter. The third complaint was lodged by the jewellery shop against the men who barged into the shop.
