Malali mosque row : Hearing adjourned to June 9

Mangaluru, 07 June 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: The Third Additional Civil Court in Mangaluru has adjourned the hearing in the Malali mosque row to June 9.

The court which resumed hearing on Monday morning, referring to the  petition filed on behalf of the legal counsel of the mosque stating that the mosque issue does not come under the purview of the Civil Court and it should be transfered to Wakf  Court and another peition seeking permission  to renovate the mosque, directed that the two petitions be held on a priority basis.

The court decided  to allow the petitioners to present their arguments and adjourned the hearing to June 9.

The Malali mosque issued had snowballed into a major controversy after Hindu associations claimed that a temple like structure was found during the demolition of a part of the mosque for renovation recently.
