Bhatkal, 24 May 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: A meeting of the Canara Muslim Gulf Council, comprising 25 Gulf Jamaats from Honnavar, Byndor and Kandapur talukas, including Bhatkal, was held in Dubai on Sunday to elect new officials for the next term.
In the meeting which lasted from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, Mr. Abu Muhammad Mukhtasar presented the report of seven years performance. During this time, he thanked Allah for the completion of some projects and hoped that in future the cooperation of different parties will work better.
Mr. Younis Qazi from Bhatkal was elected as the President for the new term and Mr. Amin Saifullah from Murdsware was elected as the Secretary General.
At the same time, former Secretary General of Canara Muslim Gulf Council Mr. Abu Muhammad Mukhtar was elected as the First Vice President and Maulana Dr. Abdullah Sukri, the General Secretary of Sharawati Council was elected as the Second Vice President.
Mr. CA Khalil, a well known personality of Bhatkal, Mr. Manigar Miran, a recent recipient of Rajya Astva Award and Mr. Siddique Irshad, a well known businessman were felicitated at the meeting in recognition of their services.
It may be recalled that the aim of Canara Muslim Gulf Council is to advance the people here in the social, educational and economic fields with the cooperation of various parties belonging to this coastal strip.
About 18 Jamaats represented in the meeting, some members could not attend the meeting due to non-receipt of visa in time.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. Abdul Qadir Basha Rukn-ud-Din. The meeting ended with the prayers of Maulana Hashim Nadvi, Editor-in-Chief of Fikrohabar.
The meeting was attended by celebrities belonging to different Jamaats.
It should be noted that this meeting was hosted by Bahrain Jamaat.
