New Delhi, 07 May 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: Two Hindu sisters along with their brother donated four bighas worth over Rs 1.5 crore for expansion of an Eidgah in Kashipur town of Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district. They did so to fulfil their late father’s dream, Press Trust Of India (PTI) reported.
Brajnandan Prasad Rastogi, who died 20 years ago, had told his relatives that he wished to donate four bighas of his land to the Eidgah. However, he passed away before he could share his last wish with his children.
His two daughters Saroj and Anita came to know about the same through their relatives recently. They immediately contacted their brother Rakesh Rastogi to seek his consent. After he agreed, they donated the land to the Eidgah.
Members of the Muslim community elated to witness such a kind gesture. “The two sisters are a living example of communal unity. The Eidgah committee expresses its gratitude to them for the kind gesture. The two sisters will soon be felicitated for what they have done,” Hasin Khan of the Eidgah committee was quoted by PTI as saying.
