Bhatkal, 23 Jan 2022 [varthabharati]: The driver of a car blocking the way of an ambulance from Mangalore to Bhatkal has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under Section 279 and 184 of the Indian Motor Vehicle (IMV) Act.
On January 19, while a patient was being transported from Mangalore to Bhatkal, a car (KA19, 6843) did not allow the ambulance to travel for about forty kilometers between Maliki and Udupi.
The arrested driver has been identified as Monish.
Several videos shot by the ambulance driver were viral across social media groups wherein the car driver was seen repeatedly obstructing the way of the ambulance despite the ambulance driver honking repeatedly.
Taking note of the incident a case in this regard was registered at Mangaluru North Traffic Police Station and subsequently, Monish was arrested.
The same thing happened with the other ambulance. This action of the car driver was captured by the ambulance staff in their camera and the video went viral on social media.
