Mangaluru, 17 Nov 2021 [varthabharati]: In an incident that occurred on Wednesday, a rabid dog attacked and bit a schoolboy injuring him in downtown Kadaba.
The young boy who was bitten by the rabid dog has been identified as Afghan, son of Hameed, resident of Kadaba.
As usual, Afghan was returning home from Madrasa in the morning when a rabid dog pounced on him and bit his hand, it is learned.
The boy was given primary treatment at the Kadaba Community Centre and later taken to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment.
Amid this, the rabid dog was lynched to death by the locals, who later informed the Town Panchayat about the occurrence.
A week ago, canine rabidity had been observed at Bapuji Nagar near the old Kadaba station, it is learned.
