New Delhi, 01 Nov 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Rioters in Tripura’s Sipahi Jala ransacked several mosques and prevented Muslims from offering prayers for several days, a fact-finding team of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has found.

Sipahi Jala is a place located 30 km away from the state capital of Agartala.
The team led by Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi, JUH General Secretary, also visited several other riot-affected places and mosques targetted by miscreants. But in the absence of permission from the police, the team is yet to visit most of the affected parts in the state.
The Jamiat said it has decided to repair the damaged mosques and rehabilitate those whose houses have been ransacked.

The team specifically undertook the visit to investigate the reports of violence after Tripura DGP denied burning of any mosque. “Jamiat does not rely on fake news. Therefore, we have sent a fact-finding team to assess the situation on the ground,” asserted Mahmood Madani, President of the Jamiat.

“The team will collect information and evidence related to the incidents and present them to the government as well as media. If need be, JUH will resort to legal remedy too,” he said.

Maulana Madani expressed indignation at the government for not taking action against people who “committed the sacrilege of Prophet Muhammad by sloganeering foul in open”.
He asked as to why this attitude was adopted by the government on this sensitive issue.
Maulana Madani warned of public anger if immediate action was not taken as Muslims cannot tolerate the sacrilege of their Prophet.

“If immediate action is not taken on such incidents, then the public reaction may be a great challenge to maintaining law and order and mutual tolerance in the country, so the government should not be lenient in this regard, this issue is not only about the sentiments of Muslims but also relates to the security of the country,” Maulana Madani warned as he appealed to the masses of Tripura to maintain calm.

The delegation of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind included Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Maulana Ghayyur Ahmad Qasmi, Organizer of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Maulana Muhammad Yaseen Jahazi, Organizer of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, and from Tripura, president of the state unit, Mufti Abdul Momin, Maulana Sirajuddin Ahmed Office Secretary, Jamiat Ulama, Tripura, Maulana Zakir Hussain, Press Secretary, Jamiat Ulama Tripura, Maulana Kamal Hussain, President Jamiat Ulama District Bashalgarh, Maulana Anisurrahman Secretary Jamiat Ulama District Bashalgarh.
