Bhatkal: Weekend curfew, Cops ensuring there is no unnecessary vehicular movement

Bhatkal, 26 June 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: As weekend curfew has been imposed in the city since Friday, June 25 evening, vehicle checking is done at various identified spots in the city.

The police are enquiring about the genuineness and importance of the motive of the travelers. They are also seen checking documents to verify their genuineness.

The district administration has imposed a weekend curfew in Uttara Kannada to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Deputy Commissioner has issued orders for the weekend curfew. Except for medical emergencies, milk shops, and government services all the activities have been banned. Food parcel supplies by Swiggy, Zomato etc. will be allowed. People are not allowed to go to the hotels to bring food.

The police personnel have been given instructions to seize the vehicles violating the curfew.

As many check-posts have been set up with upto police personnel in each check-post.

The weekend curfew began from Friday 7 pm to Monday 7 am. Those going out with genuine reasons should produce the necessary documents.
