Jamiat Ulama President Qari Usman Mansoorpuri Dies of Covid-19

New Delhi, 23 May 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: The national president of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind (Mahmood Madni faction), Maulana Syed Qari Usman Mansoorpuri, left for his heavenly abode on Friday at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. He was 76.

Qari Usman was also rector (Mohtamim) of Darul Uloom Deoband, a world renowned Islamic institution in India, where he used to teach Hadith.

Qari Usman Mansoorpuri was tested positive for Corona on May 6. He had isolated himself at home and was getting treatment under the supervision of doctors. Later, he was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram where doctors put him in the ICU .

He was put on ventlator as his condition deteriorated. He breathed his last at 1am on Friday.

Qari Usman Mansoorpuri was the son-in-law of great freedom fighter Maulana Hussain Ahmed Madani. In 2008, he was appointed national president of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind (Mahmood Madani faction).

Last year, the Shoora Committee appointed him the rector of Darul Uloom Deoband.

Qari Usman Mansoorpuri was conferred with the title of Amir-ul-Hind after the death of the great freedom fighter Maulana Syed Asad Madani. In his death, Muslim community and Islamic world has suffered a great loss.

His namaz-e-janaza was held at Jamiat Ulama Headquarters at ITO in Delhi on Friday. Later, his body was taken to Deoband for burial.
