Cattle smuggling allegations : Two men brutally attacked by Sangh Parivar activists

Mangaluru, 01 Apr 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Two persons were brutally attacked allegedly by a 12 member gang of Sangh Parivar activists at Melanthabettu  in Belthangady taluk late night on March 31, Wednesday on  the charges of  cattle smuggling.

The injured namely Sharief and Hakim have been admitted to Belthangady Government Hospital. Police said four persons have already been arrested in connection with the case.

Sharief who owns a pick-up vehicle  had come  to Santhekatte on Wednesday evening for some work along with Hakeem. Later both  were returning after having lunch at a relative’s house at Savanalu. At around 11 pm,  some people who were following their vehicle in bike and cars  intercepted them near Melanthabettu and attacked them by calling them as cattle thieves.

Later the police who rushed to the spot rescued the two and have admitted  them to Belthangady Government Hospital.
