Bhatkal: Condolence Meeting on Death of Mr. Saeed Damudi at Maulana Abu Al-Hassan Ali Islamic Academy

Bhatkal, 06 Jan 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Mr. Saeed Sahib Damodi who was a famous personality of Bhatkal and loved many institutions with all his heart, a Condolence Meeting was held on Monday 4 Jan at Maulana Abu Al-Hassan Ali Islamic Academy , Bhatkal in which scholars and elders participated and termed the death of the deceased as a tragedy and a great loss.

Expressing his views on the occasion, Founder and General Secretary Maulana Abul Hassan Ali Nadvi Islamic Academy Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Nadvi said that as soon as I received the news of his death, I felt that the shadow of another father had lifted from my head. The kind of relationship he had with them cannot be described. He loved me as much as his sons. At the same time, they fully supported me. 

I stood by him at every turn and like the late Mohtasham Abdul Ghani Sahib and Mr. Abdul Hameed Damodi Sahib, he also stood by my side. It was as if they had equated me with financial support. Explaining his good qualities, Maulana said that when Maulana Syed Mohammad Rabi Hasni Nadvi started this project of the academy, our eyes fell on selected people including the late Mr. Saeed Sahib Damodi. 

Not one, not two, but it would be fair to say that they supported him at every turn. Maulana appreciated his services by giving some examples of his cooperation with Jamia Islamia Bhatkal. One of his most important attributes was never to gossip about anyone and to be humble before the company of the people of God and the command of the elders. 

Maulana Maqbool Ahmad Kobte Nadvi said that the late Saeed Sahib Damodi was deeply attached to Maulana Abdul Majid Sahib Daryabadi. I read his writings with great interest. They had files of truth, then truth came out and modern truth came out, so they read them with great care and were very familiar with their language. Mr. Saeed Damodi Sahib will also be mentioned in this list where many people have been in the service of Urdu. Maulana said that Jamia Islamia was very much in love with Bhatkal from the day before. He proved his worth by donating his first income to Jamia Islamia. And he used to receive and give from himself and his relatives and this process continued till the end.

Nazim Jamia Islamia Bhatkal Mr. Master Shafi Sahib said that his great quality was that he was obedient to the elders. Which is missing today. In addition, he was a great support to the Islamic University. His intellectual taste was very good. In those days he used to study truth, but today we have all kinds of facilities but he is not talking.

Maulana Shoaib Sahib Nadvi said that even at that age he used to discover problems. During a recent trip to Dubai, he inquired about the condition of many people and also found out how to perform the Tasbeeh prayer.
Maulana Khawaja Moinuddin Nadvi Madani said that his great virtue was that he used to take great care in reciting the Holy Quran. In addition, Fajr used to drive five kilometers. One of his virtues is that he thought of serving mosques, madrassas and schools through wealth.

Maulana Abdul Rabb Nadvi said that whatever he puts in the way of Allah is everlasting. And this thing continued with Mr. Saeed Sahib Damodi. They used to spend out of what they had in the way of Allah.
With the childhood of the late Mr. Abdul Hameed Sahib Damodi said that my relationship with him has been going on for almost eighty six years and there has never been any difference between me and Ran. Whenever he offered something I would accept and if I offered something he would accept. He said that he and I have been together since childhood and have been till now.

He was accompanied by President of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi, former Superintendent of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal Maulana Farooq Sahib Nadvi, former lecturer of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal Maulana Muhammad Ayub Nadvi, Deputy Qazi of Jamaat-e-Muslimeen Bhatkal Maulana Abdul Azeem Nadvi and General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Muslimeen Bhatkal Maulana Talha Ruknuddin. Nadvi also expressed his views on the deceased. The meeting came to an end on the prayers of Maulana Irshad Africa Nadvi.
