Mangaluru, 30 Nov 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Ullal MLA and former state minister U T Khader on Sunday November 29 came down heavily on the acts of vandalism by miscreants who posted provocative graffiti in some parts of the city. Speaking to reporters at the Circuit House today, Khader said he strongly condemned the act and demanded immediate action from police to apprehend the culprits.

It may be recalled that a provocative message in support of terrorist outfits like Laskar E Toiba and Taliban had been posted on the wall of an apartment complex in Bejai. The message is suspected to have been painted on Thursday night and was noticed by passersby only on Friday morning. Subsequently yet another graffiti was discovered on Sunday morning at the District Court Complex. In both incidences, police rushed to the spot immediately and erased the messages.

Expressing his concern over the matter, Khader said, “I strongly condemn this wicked act of posting provocative graffiti. Such activities cannot be tolerated. Whoever is responsible should not be spared. It is the responsibility of BJP government and the police department to nab the culprits.”

He further alleged that when BJP is in power, anti-social elements get empowered. “Incidents like wall graffiti never happened during Congress regime. Under BJP, terrorist sympathizers are raising their head. There is utter lawlessness in the district and people are not afraid of police. What is the intelligence department doing? I demand that the culprits should be caught within a week. We shall wait for maximum 15 days. If police fail to nab the culprits, we shall launch an agitation,” he said.
