Karwar: Cracks develop on road

Karwar, 24 Sep 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The vehicular movement on Idagundi-Mallapur Road in Karwar taluk has been suspended as cracks have developed on the road near Harur in the limits of Mallapur Gram Panchayat.

The road that connects Mallapur and Idagundi, passes through the forest area and there are no houses in this hilly area. If the hill collapses, the connectivity between Idagundi and Mallapur will cut off. As a precautionary measure, the vehicular movement has been suspended on this route.

Cracks have also developed at the viewpoint in front of Mahasathi temple in the limits of Alakod Gram Panchayat in Kumta taluk.

Cloudy weather prevailed in Uttara Kannada district which received intermittent rains on Wednesday.
