Bhatkal: Former President raises question on Jali Pattan Panchayat building under construction

Bhatkal, 13 August 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Questioning the construction work of the new building of Jali Pattan Panchayat, the Panchayat members have submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Commissioner through which they have demanded investigation and necessary action.

Talking to Fikrokhabar, Adam, former president of Jali Pattan Panchayat, said that many people were facing problems as the existing building of the panchayat was located in a corner. 

It takes many kilometers to reach Jali Panchayat office from Kadavinakatta Dam and Venkatapur Bridge, so we thought that Jali Pattan Panchayat building should be constructed in a place which would make it easy for all the people to come and go. 

We passed a resolution on December 29, 2018, identifying two plots of land for the construction of a panchayat. He said that by this time the term of Panchayat President was over. Meanwhile, someone tried to construct a panchayat on Hari Aadi Survey No. 242, about half a kilometer away from Jali Pattan Panchayat, and started the construction work without informing us. 

He said that when the agreement was passed, all the members were against the construction work on this land but now how is it possible to start work on this land again. 

Therefore, giving a memorandum in the name of the Assistant Commissioner, he demanded that a full investigation be carried out into the matter.
