Bhatkal, 10 August 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Uttara Kannada district reported 59 fresh Covid-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the total tally to 2,782.
Of 59 cases, the source of infection in 20 persons is not known yet while 29 persons contracted the virus after they came in contact with the already infected persons. Five infected persons have fever symptom. Four returned to the district from other States and one person returned from a foreign country. On a positive note, 35 persons were discharged upon recovery from various hospitals on Sunday, according to the Health Department bulletin.
So far, 1,887 people were discharged from the hospitals after recovering from the infection. There are still 869 active cases and 26 death cases were recorded in the district.
