85 people recover in Uttara Kannada dist.

Karwar, 29 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: As many as 47 cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Uttara Kannada district on Tuesday, whereas two people died, and 85 people recovered.

Both, the number of cases and recoveries were maximum in Haliyal and Dandeli taluks. While 15 cases were reported in these taluks, 25 people walked home from hospitals. In Sirsi taluk, nine cases were confirmed, and 22 people recovered.

Presently, 71 people are in home-isolation. Until now, the district has recorded 1,832 cases of which 633 are active, while 1,110 people have recovered, and 19 people have died.

2 deaths

The district also saw two deaths at Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) on Tuesday. A 78-year-old man from Honnavar who had pneumonia was admitted to hospital on July 25. He died during treatment. The district administration ensured his body reached Honnavar with utmost care.

Another 65-year-old woman from Karwar who was admitted to KIMS on July 26 was shifted to the Covid ICU in KIMS on July 27. She too had Covid pneumonia and died of breathlessness.
