78 new cases in U-K dist

Karwar, 21 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: Uttara Kannada district recorded 78 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday while the number of recoveries were 40.

As per the Health Department Bulletin, maximum fresh cases (39) were reported in Haliyal and Dandeli taluks while Ankola saw 16 cases, Bhatkal 13, Kumta 8 and Mundgod and Karwar one each.

Among the new patients, 64 of them are primary/secondary contacts of Covid patients and source of infection of 10 patients is unknown. Three of them have travel history to other States/cities/countries. One had ILI (fever) symptoms. Asymptomatic patients have been shifted to the Covid Care Centres of the respective taluks and only those with symptoms are under treatment at Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences.
