Bhatkal, 11 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: As many as 175 Kannadigas were flown to Mangalore international airport from Muscut in a chartered flight on Friday, 11 July at around 8:30 pm with the help of Indian Social Club, Oman.
The passengers included 62 residents of Bhatkal and 113 from other towns in the state. This NRI's were stranded in Muscut because of the Covid-19 situation and lockdown and they were also not able to return.
62 residents of Bhatkal will be quarantined in Bhatkal or Murdeshwer.
It may be recalled that 184 Dubai-based Bhatkallys had returned to Bhatkal on a chartered flight on June 12, after which the second chartered flight arrived at Mangalore Airport on July 7 with 181 passengers on board.
