23 more cases add to U-K Covid patient list on July 1

Bhatkal, 02 July 2020 [Fik/News Sources]:  Another 23 cases of Covid-19 were reported in uttara kannada on wednesday and a majority of them were primary contacts of covid patients of Bhatkal and Ankola.

Men aged 33, 42, two men aged 47, women aged 47, 41, 20 and girls aged 11, 12 and 13 tested positive after they came in primary contact with P-12047 of Bhatkal. Another 27-year-old man had come from Chennai.

Six people from Kumta taluk, who had returned from Maharashtra and were in institutional quarantine, too turned Covid-19 positive. In Ankola taluk, five including a four-year-old girl have been infected with the Coronavirus and all of them had come in primary contact with P-10648.

This apart, a 27 year old man from Karwar taluk too has become covid positive. However, the source of the infection is still being traced.

"Not Covid Death"

DC Harish Kumar clarified that the woman who died in Yellapur Taluk Hosipital on Tuesday did not die of Covid-19. He said, the woman slipped in the bathroom and suffered heart attack. Her swab sample was latter sent for testing and that confirmed Covid-19.

Taluk Hospital Health Officer Narendra Pawar said that the ward where the woman had admitted has been sealed down. The doctor, two staff nurses and the assitant who came in contact with her have been home quarantined.
