Mangaluru: Traffic diversion for pro-CAA, NRC convention

Mangaluru, 27 Jan 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The city police have issued traffic advisories for motorists in view of the pro-Citizen (Amendment) Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens convention, organised by BJP, at Goldfinch City in Bangrakuloor on Monday.

Union Minister for Defence Rajnath Singh will addrress the gathering.

Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha said the traffic would be diverted from 9 am onwards on Monday.

All the vehicles plying from Udupi to Bengaluru will be diverted at Padubidri and will have to ply on Karkala– Dharmasthala – Shiradi Ghat road.

Vehicles from Bengaluru to Mangaluru will have to take a diversion at Melkar – B C Road and ply through Konaje – Thokkottu to join the NH 66 and reach Mangaluru.

Vehicles will have to take a diversion at B C Road Kaikamba for those travelling from B C Road to Mangaluru via Polali Kaikamba. Vehicles coming from B C Road and Pumpwell have take Nanthoor- Kaikamba-Moodbidri route. Vehicles from Kottara Chowki have to take Kottara Chowki -KPT-Nanthoor-Kaikamba-Moodbidri route, he added.

About 100 workers each from 1,861 booths in the district will take part in the convention.

Rajnath Singh will address the rally at 4 pm. Even members of Muslim community have been invited to take part in the convention, to know more about the CAA.
