Bengaluru, 24 Dec 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: The state government on Monday issued official circulars to all district officials instructing them that the practice of ‘water bells’ are now to be compulsorily implemented in every school.
‘Water bells’ is the time usually between school periods, when children are mandatorily asked to drink water. This new trend was started in Kerala and is fastly growing in many states.
The circular stated that schools must have ten minute breaks between two periods in the morning and afternoon for children’s rehydration.
The initiative, started by education minister Suresh Kumar, is aimed at reducing the health disorders in children due to reduced consumption of water.
