New Delhi, 01 Dec 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: There is an atmosphere of fear, and people are afraid to criticise the government and do not have the confidence that the government will appreciate any criticism. Industrialist Rahul Bajaj, on Saturday, 30 November.
Speaking at a panel discussion comprising Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Rail Minister Piyush Goyal at Economic Times Awards function in Mumbai, Bajaj asked the ministers why people are not allowed to question the government.
People had the freedom to critique the UPA government but the current regime has created an environment of fear and uncertainty, he added.
Bajaj further questioned the Home Minister about Bhopal MP Pragya Thakur’s Godse remark, asking, “If there was a doubt that Godse was a terrorist”.
“No need to fear about anything. The Narendra Modi-government has been criticised continuously in media. But, if you are saying that there is such an environment, we need to work to improve this,”
Replying to comments made by veteran industrialist Rahul Bajaj here, Shah said that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has already condemned her remarks and the party has taken action against her.
“No need to fear about anything. The Narendra Modi-government has been criticised continuously in media. But, if you are saying that there is such an environment, we need to work to improve this,” he said.
