New Delhi, 11 August 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday asked the government to take care of safety and sanitation in the city ahead of Bakrid on Monday.
In a tweet he said, “In light of ongoing workers’ strike & Eid on Monday, I request that necessary measures are taken by tomorrow to ensure safety & cleanliness (sic)”.
He also sought authorities to take necessary measures for waste collection and disposal. In the same thread, Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar said that the measures are being taken and that the GHMC is making all necessary arrangements to ensure cleanliness and sanitation during Eid.
Informing the same Commissioner Dana Kishore tweeted, “I went around Old City inspecting areas of Edgahs and Bakrid congregation areas/market places. Instructed Zonal and Deputy commissioners to start Additional Vehicles for Sanitation from Saturday in addition to 400 transportation vehicles and staff that will be pressed into service for Bakrid (sic).”
