Three killed in two separate road accidents in Bhatkal on Wednesday

Bhatkal, 13 Feb 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: In two different road accidents reported in Bhatkal on Wednesday, three people lost their lives, while two kids have been reported to have sustained serious injuries and are being treated at a Manipal hospital.

In the first accident, a 78 year-old bicycle borne man, died after being hit by a crane, near Bhatkal telephone exchange office. The deceased in the accident was identified as Ramesh Prabhu, of Mutalli locality of Bhatkal Taluka.

Reports added that the 78 year old died of heart attack after being hit by the crane.

In another tragic accident, a brother and a sister died on the spot, after their two-wheeler was run down by a local passenger tempo at Murdeshwar, when they along with two kids were on their way towards Bhatkal from Manki.

Mohammed Kaif (22) a BBA student of AIMCA, and his sister Afreen (28) a housewife, died on the spot while Afreen’s two sons aged 3 and 5 years sustained grievous head injuries and have been shifted to Manipal for treatment.

Bodies of Afreen and Kaif were shifted to Manki government hospital for post-mortem.

Cases for both the accidents have been reported in Bhatkal town police station and Murdeshwar police station respectively.
