Bengaluru, 02 Jan 2019 [Fik/News Sources]:  Lashing out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his statement that loan of only 800 farmers was waived off by the Karnataka government, former prime minister and JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda said that total 60,000 farmers of the state were benefited from the loan waiver scheme of the coalition government. The PM might have issued the statement without having proper information on loan waiver, he said.

Speaking to reporters at his residence here on Tuesday, the former PM said that lakhs of farmers would get the benefit of the loan waiver scheme. In coming days, all farmers would get the benefit.

On January 3, a meeting of the party would be held in Bengaluru and appointment of chairpersons to boards and corporations would be discussed. It was just a rumour that party state president H Vishwanath would resign from the post, he said.

LS seats sharing

When the coalition government was formed, the power was shared equally. The Congress which did not pose any conditions while Kumaraswamy was taken charge as the chief minister, then they has posed conditions. The Congress has given one third of portfolios and same formula will be applied to Lok Sabha elections, he said.

The decision on seat sharing for the 28 Lok Sabha seats would be taken this month. JDS could get 10-11 seats. There was no need to clash over the issue because the JDS would cooperate with the Congress. After discussing with the leaders, seat sharing would be finalized. But the party did not place any demands, he said.

Siddu's responsible statement

When he was asked about the conspiracy of BJP to topple the coalition government, Deve Gowda said that the BJP leaders wanted to topple the government. Siddaramaiah has tweeted in a right way, he said.

The coalition government would not have any problems. Siddaramaiah has spoken in a responsible way. Siddaramaiah had ruled the state for five years. Since he has all information about luring the Congress MLAs, Siddaramaiah has mentioned that issue, he said.

Singh wasn't 'accidental PM'

Dr. Manmohan Singh was not an 'accidental prime minister'. How could Singh, who ruled the country for ten years, became an accidental prime minister, he asked.

"I have become the accidental prime minister and ruled the country for ten months", he said.
