Bengaluru, 28 Nov 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The national executive committee of the All Karnataka State Government Employees Federation has called for all India strike on January 8 and 9 seeking fulfillment of their various demands including cancellation of new pension policy and introduction of term pension scheme.

The resolution was taken at a two-day national executive committee meeting held at the Gandhi Bhavan for the last two days in the city. The committee urged both the central and state governments to cancel the existing pension scheme as it is detrimental to the future of the employees.

The employees have been giving 10 per cent of their salaries every month for the pension and the government is bearing the same amount. This fund is being given to private companies to invest it in various share markets through fund managers. So, the companies which get profit would give pension to the employees after 30-35 years. Now, the private companies have incurred loss and became bankrupt due to which, the employees have lost their pension, insurance and savings. So, the government should reintroduce the pension scheme for the benefit of the employees, it was demanded in the meeting.

Representatives from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states have participated in the meeting. Karnataka Federation vice president M Venkatesh, member Guruprasad Honnali, Secretary Shobha Lokanagh and others were participated, said Federation president Mahadevaiah Matapathi.
