Rajyotsava awards to be presented on November 25

Bengaluru, 15 Nov 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The presentation of Rajyotsava awards which was postponed due to by-election, is likely to be held on November 25.

As usual, the presentation of Rajyotsava awards would be held on November 1. But due to by-election on November 3, the programme was postponed and it was said that the programme would be held on November 15. But due to some confusions in selecting the personalities for the awards, it was said that the awards presentation programme would be held by this month end.

In view of the 63rd Kannada Rajyotsava, the government may restrict the number of Rajyotsava awards to 63 and the Karnataka High Court has given a direction in this regard. Meanwhile, Kannada and Culture department Director Vishukumar is retiring from the service on November 30 and it is said that the award presentation programme is likely to be held before November 30.
