Karnataka bans manufacture-sale of series crackers, circulars dispatched

Bengaluru, 04 Nov 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The state government has issued a circular to concerned departments saying "Owing to noise pollution, air pollution and the pollution caused by the remains of the crackers after they have exploded, the state government is prohibiting the manufacture and sale of series crackers."

The government has also said that only authorised/licensed dealers can sell crackers. They have to strictly adhere to the stipulated guidelines.

According to the circular, district administration have to carry out awareness programs about the ill effects of firecrackers in schools and colleges.

The police personnel must ensure that the court order is followed and must take action against violators. Police should also ensure that banned firecrackers are not sold. Furthermore, it directed officials to keep an eye out for those who do not follow the orders of the top court,” it said.
