Naxal suspect Rupesh Madikeri attends court

Ballary, 30 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The suspect Naxal Rupesh, who was found at the Kodagu's Mundrotu a few years ago, was produced before a court in Madikeri on Monday.

Rupesh, who was arrested by the Andhra police on the charges of the Naxal activity, is now in the custody of the Kerala police and is in Thrissur Prison. About five years ago, he along with his five associates was found in the Mundrotu forest area of Kodagu. The court is hearing this case.

He was again produced to the court for further inquiry.

The police, who brought Rupesh from Kerala to Madikeri on Sunday, had kept him at the district prison. Naxal suppression force, Kerala police, and Kodagu police officers

While alighting from the police van near the court building, Rupesh raised slogans in the favor of Maoists.

"Struggle is not a crime. Strivers, including Sudha Bharadvaj, Arun Ferrera, Paravar Rao; must be released," he urged.
