Karkala: Friend stabbed to death, Accused held

Karkala, 23 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: In an inebriated condition, a person stabbed another person at Jyothi Nagar Belottu in Kukkundur village in the taluk on October 21.

The victim has been identified as Alexander John D’Mello (64). Police arrested the accused Mumbai-based Troy Hilary (54), who was absconding after the incident, on Monday and produced him before the court.

Alexander and Troy became friends in a ship at Mumbai. Later, they became close friends. Hilary used to come to Karkala to Alexander’s house. On October 21, Hilary came to Karkala and both of them together were consuming liquor. At that moment, fracas developed between them. Irked by the incident, Hilary stabbed Alexander who sustained severe injuries succumbed to them later. Based on a complaint by the brother of the deceased, Karkala city police registered a case.
