New Delhi, 01 Oct 2018 [Fik/News Sources]:  Social activist Anna Hazare will hold a protest against the unfulfilled promises by the Narendra Modi government. Hazare will sit on a hunger strike from October 2 in his village, Ralegan Siddhi if the government does not implement its commitments. The social activist has sent a directive to the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh in which listed seven major unfulfilled promises by the Centre.

According To a report published by India TV, Hazare claimed that the recommendations sent by the State Agriculture Prices Commission over Minimum Support Price (MSP) were slashed because of the interference by the Central Agriculture Department. He also demanded implementation of promised "autonomy" for the Agricultural Prices Commission

As one of his seven demands, he pointed out the long-pending promise of the Central government on the appointments of Lokpal and Lokayukta. Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed a selection committee on March 1 for appointing Lokpals and Lokayuktas, but the issue is still pending.

In March this year, went on a hunger strike at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, to bring about a competent Lokpal and ensure better production cost for farm produce. Hazare demanded setting up of Agriculture Price Commission on the lines of the Election Commission and Niti Aayog. Hazare retracted the protest after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reached out to him.
