One drowns as fishing boat capsizes near estuary

Mangaluru, 24 Sep 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: A 24-year-old man died after his fishing boat capsized at Bengre near Alive Bagilu on Friday, September 21.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Noushad, a resident of Bengre. Another person Afrid, who accompanied Noushad during the incident swam to safety. Sources in Panambur police station said, Noushad and Afrid had been ventured for fishing in a traditional fishing boat on Friday evening. When both engaged in fishing, another boat hit against their boat, due to which the boat was capsized. Though Afrid swam to the safety, Noushad was found missing. After the search operation, the dead body of Noushad was recovered at around 10 am.

A case has been registered at Panambur police station in this regard.
