Woman threatened, robbed by strangers on the pretext of inviting for wedding

Mangaluru, 21 Aug 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Two thieves, one of them in the guise of a woman and clad in a burqa befooled a  woman who was all alone in her house at Mangala  Nagar in Manjanady  of Konaje police station limits stating they had come to give an wedding invitation and later escaped with jewellery.

The incident occurred at  the residence of a person named Latif on Monday. Latif, a businessman in Derlakatte was away to drop the kids to school when his wife  was all alone in the house, Two strangers including a burqa clad person  who came by a bike  pressed the calling bell and told Latif’s wife they had come to give a wedding invitation. Thinking that a woman too had come she had opened the door only to realise later that  it was a man and not a woman. The duo later escaped with jewellery weighing 20 sovereigns as Latif’s wife locked herself up in another room.

After the thieves left, she raised a cry. A complaint was registered in Konaje Police Station and investigations are in progress.
